COMPRESSOR VALVES
Prosind designs and manufacture compressor valves to suit all applications. In many cases, valves are custom designed to meet specific operating parameters or where existing valves are no longer suitable, due to process changes.
Valve designs may be guided or flexing plate, Ring, Poppet, Channel or Reed types.
Non-metallic sealing elements are made from advanced high temperature polymers. Suction valve unloaders and actuators are designed to give optimum performance.
Valves may be manufactured in a range of materials. These may be high strength Spheroidal Graphite iron, high tensile carbon steel, Martensitic or Austenitic Stainless Steel or even exotic high corrosion resistant alloys.
Valve safety actuators are designed to API618 fail-safe guidelines. They can be retrofitted to existing compressor cylinders. We also provide non-metallic guide bushes for the spindle so that there is minimal risk of the spindle sticking between long periods of actuation.
All valve manufacturing is undertaken at our Melbourne plant, using modern CNC lathes and machining centres.
In-house developed re-calculation and performance analysis software is used. The primary considerations are that the optimal valve type is selected for the service. A flow area analysis is also important to ensure that there is no unnecessary throttling. This then leads to a check of the gas velocity, to ensure it is within safe limits. A valve spring analysis is then performed and finally, suitable materials are selected, and a seat strength check is done.
